Phil Kettle

Phil Kettle was born in Mildura, in Victoria but grew up in Cardross, a dear little town not far from Mildura. The place was so small his parent’s post office number was Number 1 Cardross. He attended school at Cardross Primary and Redcliffs High School.

When he was a kid he loved to play football and cricket, as well as spend time outside with his dog Skipper. Guess what his favourite subject was? Sport, sport and more sport. But his second favourite subject was writing and would you believe it – he loved to write stories about sport!

So it’s no wonder that Phil Kettle’s 34 TOOCOOL books have been so popular with the boys, because they are all about sport. He has also written 8 books in the Xtreme World of Billy Kool series and 10 books in the new GET REAL series where Jesse and Harry have some hilarious adventures in their time-machine. Phil has also co-authored the MARCY series (10 books) - everyone knows MARCY from the TOOCOOL books! Prior to this Phil created and co-authored Boyz Rule (32 books) and Girlz Rock (24 books). Currently Phil is writing the Australian Geographic OUR AUSTRALIA book series with 2 books being released each school term starting in 2010. He is also working on a second GET REAL series and planning more TOOCOOL and MARCY books. Phil Kettle is happy to be a patron of the InkRoom and eager to encourage young writers to give it a go. You can be cool too!
